Overall, this was a funny book with a lot of anecdotes I could relate to. As any stay at home parent can tell you... we don't ALWAYS like our children. We don't always like the games they want to play. And, we don't always know what to do with them. Sometimes they will shame us publicly. Other times they will delight us to no end. What I didn't like about the book were the moments when the author came across a bit preachy. He does not believe in spanking. Ever. He assumes that loud and obnoxious children come from loud and obnoxious parents. And that most improper behavior the child exhibits occurs because the parents are not being consistent in the disciplining of their child(ren). I'm going to need him to get off of his high horse and join the rest of us in the real world. Some children delight in causing a scene in public just to see if they can get away with it. Kids are mischievous and love attention and will acquire it by any means necessary. Even at the mercy of their tired parents. Don't be so quick to judge. We are all in this together so... save the preaching. It almost ruined an otherwise pleasant book.
