I have been reading super slowly of late and this was marvellously relaxing to dip in and out of so many rich universes whilst still having an overarching story holding them together.
The author managed to walk the fine line between giving you enough of the short stories to make you feel sated- like you've read a proper tale- without feeling annoyed that there wasn't more; each vibe and character and world was rich in detail.
Yes, I would love to read more of some of the worlds from the shorts contained within, but it didn't detract.
The only criticism is that I wanted more of the main plot. Because I'm greedy.
