This is a wonderful first offering from a talented writer. There is something about Bechtol's approach that reminds me of a budding Chuck Palanuik - quirky, oddly romantic, a tad tragic, very American. To be honest though, I almost gave this a 4 star review because of the appalling number of typos, especially in the first part of the book. However, the story is so good that I didn't feel it was fair for its ratings to suffer because of errors on the publisher's part.
