I am really picky about travel books: I want a book packed with details that describe sites in such a way that I know if I would really want to go there or not, and know how to get the most out of a particular site. I want to know what's cheap and what's expensive, and what's worth the expense or the time to get to to see. I want to know details about the most famous places as well as some hidden gems that many people never see. Lonely Planet Britain is a fantastic guide to the country, providing all the details you need regarding site's worth seeing and what's worth skipping. I've used it for several trips to London, as well as a two-week tour by motorcycle for Northern England and Scotland.
