Loved it! All four members of the Women's Murder Club had stories that sometimes crossed over. Joe also had a story of his own to work through. Vigilante justice took on a new path as tied incidents occurred across the country. Boxer and Conklin were on the case, as Cindy was reporting in print and on air. Claire had a bit of a spotlight for herself of the personal nature while Yuki had to prosecute a case that she didn't feel in her heart was right. As for Joe, a trip to Napa reunited him with an old friend, Dave, and a case that Dave would go to any length to see to conclusion. The book was riveting and came with some hard knocks.

The narrator, January LaVoy, did a wonderful job. Thank you to my local library system for the loan of the book and audiobook!

I have't read one of this series for many years but I soon felt at home reading this book. The characters were familiar straight away and the story was a good one.

This was about the most boring thriller I have ever read. There were three separate plotlines, and none of them were thrilling and none of them were mysteries.
1. The sniper that is taking down drug dealers that is part of a dark net game. The suspect is identified right away, and caught near the end.
2. The kid who covered for a drug dealer who murdered a cop. The drug dealer is taken down by the sniper, and the kid goes into witness protection.
3. The doctor who is murdering elderly patients with heart problems. Except it's not the doctor, it's the nurse.
I read the first book in this series and read this one. I was worried of spoilers, and there were some, but it wasn't memorable enough so that by the time I go back to book 2 (if I do), I probably won't remember. This book is lighter on creepy men-writing-women descriptions, but that just means it's lighter on descriptions overall. There is no characterization. All the characters personalities are interchangeable. I could hold some remnants of personality from the first book to keep the women apart. But the men are all new and I could barely keep track of who was who, but honestly I didn't care.
Also, what happened to the Women's Murder Club? I thought they were supposed to work together to solve mysteries, but they did not work together in this one. Everyone was off doing their own thing.
And what was with this weird Cindy subplot of the new guy who she didn't like who ended up being a creeper and got fired? It had nothing to do with the actual cases.
I wonder where this series started going downhill.

Not great, not terrible. After 19th Christmas, I was ready to give up on a series of which I have ready each installment. After this book, I will push on and read 21st Birthday when released.

Still nowhere near the best WMC action packed book, but enough. At least the multiple story line was somewhat entertaining this time around.

Claire’s character has definitely taken a back seat, or has missed being involved all together. Maybe new blood is needed in the club for this series to get back on good footing. I guess we will have to wait and see.

This book read like four different storylines thrown together. Disjointed and all over the place with no compelling reason to keep reading. This may be my last dance with the Women’s Murder Club and Patterson books.
