Kudos to Lauren Ezzo - her voice acting on the Spotify audiobook was FANTASTIC! I listened instead of read based on reviews and cannot express how much I loved the experience. She really makes it an experience.
As for the book itself, lost stars only because the twist was predictable (but still enjoyable) and the ending felt a little lackluster. Definitely an enjoyable, easy read for SF horror fans!

Space. Creepy things. Ghosts. Sign me up!
I will say it was creepy and horror-ish until about 45% of the way. It was captivating and the narrator was one of the best honestly I’ve ever heard (Kudos to you Lauren Ezzo!); but then it started to get a little slow. I did enjoy the dual time POVs and it did pick back up the last quarter of the book. I enjoyed the plot twists, even though some were obvious. Overall, I didn’t mind the tid bit of romance but it could have done without as well. Regardless I’m a S.A. Barnes fan and will read her other books for sure. I’m not a huge sci-fi fan but I am NOW a sci-fi thriller fan!

I wanted it to be monsters/aliens not a psychological horror type of book. I went into this thinking it was gonna be like a mix between the movie Ghost Ship and the game Dead Space and it kind of let me down but that is on me. The unreliable narrator and not being able to know if what you are reading is happen is the creepy part of the book. I didn't think this was very scary but at times it was chilling. Also, I really liked how it was written, switching between past and present for the beginning. One of the thing I didn't like is how the horror and gore was all mostly off screen. You are told about everyone's death but never actually see anything.
