LOVED IT. I felt like it had the vibes of 1899, which I loved, but more sci-fi and set in the future.

I loved the first half of this book, but the ending explanation was a bit of a letdown. I wanted the reveal to be spookier than it was? Regardless, I enjoyed this read! It certainly had me feeling a little tense at the beginning!

The premise was interesting, and it was genuinely tense at first, but when everything comes together and the reveals happen, the fear and tension mostly drop. It was a bit strange how the situation affecting the main character is left up to spookiness and a tragic backstory. However, the experiences of the rest of the characters, all of which were almost identical to the main character, can be easily explained away by the reveal.
Either way, it was a pretty fun read, and I would probably try another by the same author.

3.5 stars.
So, I really wanted to love this. A haunted house in space sounds so cool...but I was unfortunately a little disappointed. Now there were some things I liked: the blurring between reality and hallucination, the bond between the team, Nysus <3. The story did lose me in pacing, everything happened either slowly or
Spoiler in a flashback/memory
which just made the story drag. Nysus was my favorite part of this book somehow, something about his character, however short was wholly endearing and I love him. I think the romance was fine, a subplot that made me care for the characters a little more cuz I'm a sucker for it. Overall, the story was fine but it really didn't feel like horror, felt more suspense-like.
Spoiler I was so genuinely sad when Claire found him, I really hoped he survived with Kane. Also, the plot point of Verux being behind everything was so obvious from the beginning that the only reveal was how they did it.
