This is a great introduction to the moon landing for young readers. Lots of good STEM words and concepts presented very simply and vibrant illustrations.

Super sparse text with bright illustrations describing the first landing on the moon. For example, near the end a spread says, "Swiftly speeding. Earth ahead. Ship arriving. News is spread." The text is a good jumping off point for a group read aloud, but there's a lot more to the story to be told! A decent story time read for a space or moon theme.

Thanks to only 4 lines of rhyming text on each page, the action in this book moves quickly, yet the author is still able to convey a lot of emotion and information about the first moon landing. Pairing this with "One Giant Leap" would be great for having students compare texts.

This book is a great way to introduce space history to a kiddo. Josh loves it.

The story itself is a pretty basic rhyme that can introduce younger kids to the topic of the moon landing. I loved the more detailed description in the back!
