So the last few issues we’ve seen Batman dealing with the latest version of the Scarecrow. At first I didn’t really know how I felt about that. On the one hand, it’s kind of cool that they’re reimagining all these villains to fit a new timeline. On the other hand I feel like Terry deserves his own, unique, set of villains. In the end I just decided to go with it. After all, I love the Jokerz (well, love to hate them, that is) and they’re technically a reimagining as well.
This issue was heavily dramatic, with lots of fighting and trying to deal with dangerous civilians – while not bringing any harm to said civilians. Despite that there were actually a couple of laugh out loud moments. Then again, I love Melanie, so that may just be my bias showing.
The twist at the end was a good call. That moment pretty much shows every reason Terry ever had to be concerned about his brother following him in his line of work; only it’s all flipped on its head. I’m personally really hoping a certain blond comes to the rescue…
