This is another story revolving about Hope and Karl only this time they're in LA with some interaction from the Nast Cabal. Robyn, a human friend of Hope's, her beloved husband shot 6 months earlier, has moved to LA to act as a publicist to a Paris Hilton-wannabe, Portia, hoping to lose herself in her work. Hope has arrived in LA to help only for the three of them to get caught up in Portia's murder.

The detective on the case sees ghosts but doesn't know about the supes. The actual murderer is a psychopathic clairvoyant willing to kill anyone who gets in her way. And there's a secret community of clairvoyants hoping to stay out of everyone's way.

Robyn is running like made making stupid decisions, getting people killed and it's so frustrating in that neither Hope nor Karl can tell Robyn about the supernaturals around her but it would sure make it easier to protect her!

What is this chick's problem?? She's got a phone. She knows Adele is the killer. Call Finn!!!

And why is it that every woman has to go running off to save the day...jeez, I'm such a hypocrite! Arghhh....

(audio)I can't hate these two women enough, layer stupid on top of stupid and then cover it with stupid sauce and make them act like spoiled teenagers and you have Hope and Robin. Put them in situations where you need somebody who can help themselves and they do the wrong thing every time. ARGUH !
I am giving this book a 2 stars just because they were so unbearable. I also did not care for this narrator, the voices were so childish. I'm sure it effected my take on the story.

Not my favourite in the series but still enjoyable.

I felt like there were a lot of POVs in the this book and realistically they weren't needed. Would have much preferred to have read this book just from Hope's POV. Also detective Finn was a completed unnecessary I'm this book and I wouldn't mind if he was removed from the story.

better than i expected. didn't like the short chapters or the backtracking of the story in some chapters. kind of annoying how i didnt understand any of the kumpania stuff until i got to the end. but the story was good and i really liked that it was in third person!

This was a great book. Ms. Armstrong has created a very believable alternate universe. All of the characters were very strongly drawn. It's a shame that I've come into the series at book nine. I'll definitely be going back to look at other novels by Ms. Armstrong.

This was a good but not great read. Hope and Karl are becoming closer but it seems Hope is going to be using her demon self more in the future.
I don't know if Finn and Robyn will be a couple with the whole ghost thing story going on. A dead husband can get in the way when he's the ghost Finn is dealing with.
The Cabels might have an advantage now thanks to Adele.
Only good thing that happened was Rhys getting custody of a son he thought was dead.
The next book is suppose to star Elena, my favorite character, and I can't wait. :D
