So well written.  Very strong voice, felt like reading a conversation.

old memoir so no surprise its super dated. romanticizing all the toxic kitchen cliches i hate.

bourdain writes and speaks (listened to audiobook) like how i imagine an egocentric, Charles Bukowski-megafan writes and speaks.

Bourdain-he's a culture all by himself. Fascinating account of food prep, kitchen relationships, pranks, fun, his take on food and eating and all sorts of things you didn't really want to know about behind the swinging doors of a restaurant. Great reading.
