Took me a while to get through this one because of all the stereotypical sorority/college drama in the beginning, but the ending redeemed itself. I began to love it when wicked magic started getting involved, and my enjoyment took off from there. In the beginning, I kept telling myself that I definitely wouldn't read this if it weren't about witches. I'm glad the last 100 pages or so made the read worth it. It does get very YA/catty at times, but it's easy to look past if you just focus on getting to the witchy magical parts lol.

This is a story about a sorority of girls who are secretly a coven of witches, there is drama, secretes and something new is threatening their sisterhood. It's told in dual perspectives of an existing member and a new recruit.
Admittedly I started listening to the Audio book last month while playing sims and I was a little bored by the setup. Lots of different characters were introduced since its revolving around a Sorority, and that general concept isn't the most interesting thing to me personally.
That being said, about half way through the book an interesting event takes place and the rest of the book is fast moving as the different characters are trying to find a solution to the problems faced before them. I found myself getting more and more interested in the plot and the characters and once we reached the end I was hooked. I was so happy with the ending that my first thought was 'five stars' until I remembered the bleh feeling i had at the beginning along with one of the things that bothered me.
Without giving away too much there is a point where a character is interacting with their mother later on in the book and it was pretty annoying to me. But other then that I enjoyed the book quite a bit. I do think that the sorority theme is probably not my thing in general, but the witchy twist made things a lot more interesting.

Okay, so it seemed weird to me that she was SOOOO quick to literally turn on her mom without hearing her out about something that seemed so serious. Especially since it didnt seem like she had a bad relationship with her mom. I feel like I would have preferred her finding the amulet behind her moms back instead of ignoring her mothers warnings completely..
I was also annoyed that her mom hid so much from her. Even if she felt it was to keep her safe you would think that when it was clear her daughter was going to join the same witchy coven that she had she would sit her down and be like.. hey sooooooo here is some shit you gotta be careful of..
I like the miss direction, I felt it was pretty obvious that the character they thought it was, wasnt the bad guy, but it made sense. I also really loved the scene where the coven came to help them while fighting tiffany. That sisterhood was really touching and everyone voting her in at the end. Awww, so sweet.
I might need to re-read the beginning because it was a few weeks ago, but it all felt so boring. It was very sorority focused, and not clear what the point of everything would be. I sort of wish the threat was made clearer way early on. Like if Tiffany went missing during the first chapter and then we turned back time or something because I just didnt know what I was supposed to care about in the beginning. Hints of stuff was put out but not enough to really make me care. (Admittedly I was super tired after work and I was playing the sims when I listened to the first half of the book so perhaps it wasn't as bad as I remember..)
