The writing was amazing. It was so confusing but thats why i liked it, it made me feel so smart and it kinda made me think a lot. The pop culture references and play on words are 10/10, Great touches. Once i started to understand this book, i really enjoyed it. I love the forbidden love trope. And the ending of Blue being alive and saying “you’ve got five minutes to break out of jail and we’re going to win this war together” OOOOOOOH!!! too good. I love that is sapphic. I really was upset when Blue died and the way the two love each other is very nice and this was a beautiful book :))

my pea brain was working in overdrive trying to conceptualize and understand this, and i fear that it failed. i can respect the prose and what i think it was trying to convey - Red and Blue as allegories for fantasy vs science fiction, love vs war - but the intentionally ambiguous word building distracted me and prevented me from becoming emotionally invested on any level. but also i’m just usually averse to time travel narratives so i’m chalking it up to a Me Problem

I really wished I liked this book. But it just doesn't make any sense.

i think this was good but it’s definitely the type of book that would benefit from more than one read
