At first, the book was really good. About three-quarters of the way through, though, it started having some trouble. Generally, a romance plot keeps tension going by having one of the leads feel betrayed by the other, even though that feeling is somewhere between completely and mostly irrational. This is annoying, but whatever. The problem with this book was that the female lead kept feeling betrayed over obvious stuff and then changing her mind that she wasn't upset, and then feeling betrayed again, and then going back and forth and back and forth. Often when one character is kind of an ass, that happens at the beginning and then the character evolves into someone more cool over the course of the story. Here, the chick just became more and more fussy, pissy and obnoxious. By the end, it was hard to believe anything she said because she'd turned on the male lead so many times.

In addition to the annoying chick, there was also a bit too much explanation and other heavy handed techniques for explaining why everyone felt as they did. A lot of it was completely unnecessary. On top of that, the proofreading was poor. I'm willing to read one more book in this series in hopes that it is good. *crosses fingers*

This is your typical bad boy meets a sweet innocent girl story.
I took me a few pages to get used to the setting in the book but I was in “their “world pretty quick. I took me a little longer to get used to their name though.

Military sci-fi. SO not what I was expecting from a Kenyon novel. And absolutely excellent!! Kept me on the seat of my sofa...! It's a buy!

Audio- It was predictable, Hardened Alpha man, damaged by years of abuse meets sweet kind woman that changes his world. He saves her, she saves him. Simple plot, and not normally interesting enough for me to finish a story. But, I really liked the characters, they were all so quirky and unique as was the world created. I sat on the edge of my seat even though I knew what was going to happen already, I liked their reactions to the events. I will not rush out to read the next in this series but I will read it

I've been a fan of Sherrilyn Kenyon since i was probably about 13. I've read quite a few of her dark hunter serious and loved them. Sometime last year i found out about this series and decided that i would give it a try. Unfortunately this is the first time i've had time to actually give it a try and i'm glad i did.

Just like many of her other books you can not only see everything but you can literally feel their heartbreak and their pain as well as their joy and their pride. It keeps you on the edge of your seat almost in tears at times from their pain and heartbreak as well as the witty humor that is spread throughout the book. You can't help but fall in love with her characters as well as her writing.

Not bad. Easy to follow along. Not sure if I'll continue this one. Not very memorable for the things that happened.
