I absolutely devoured this book. It was a fresh idea unlike anything I have ever read before and I loved it. The characters were well developed even with all the POV switching (which I am typically not a fan). The journal idea and the introduction of Jacey and Micah was also captivating. At first I was a little annoyed and wanted to get the story back to Leni & Jeric, but I started to really love Jacey & Micah too.

I'm invested in these characters and I have to see how this all plays out. I am starting book 2 right now!

I suffered through book, battling the desire to give it up. I hoped it would get better (taking into account all those oh-so-stellar reviews), but no, it got worse and worse.
First, who on earth might swoon over such a guy as Jeric??? All he did was accept propositions from random women - from air-hostesses to waitresses, he was worse, than a whore, because a whore at least earns her living, but he just behaved like animal (though maybe it's offence to animals - they behave better).
Second, the story of Jacey and Micah is nearly identical to Leni and Jeric with several slight differences, so it was definitely boring to read the same story just in other time.
Third - if Leni was tolerable, Jacey version was unbearable and disgusting (alcohol abuse, even at the funeral).
Fourth - the author didn't manage to pull off soul-mates theme - it was forced and awkward.
I definitely don't recommend this book and the amount of five-star reviews is either due to inexperience of the readers (maybe they didn't come across anything better), or some partial attitude to the author.

So I don't usually give negative reviews on books I always try to avoid it. So I stopped reading at 39% because and I hate to say this (and please respect my personal opinion on this) but I nearly died of boredom. I felt as if I was reading the same story twice, once with Leni and Jeric (present) and then with Jacey and Micah (1989) The blurb and the idea for the book was promising unfortunately for me it fell short to that of what I expected.

I enjoyed this book. It was suspenseful, fairly fast paced, kept me interested and entertained for the two days it took me to read it. However, much of the plot was unsurprising and I was not thrown for very many twists throughout the book.

One of the things I did really like about this book is that the characters were very rich and flawed, in a good way. I love it when characters I read about have extreme weaknesses or baggage because really, people are messy and I can never connect when the characters are written perfectly.

One thing I was not expecting was the romance novel feel this book had to it. When I picked it up, I assumed it would be another YA novel (which is my genre of choice) but was surprised by the sexual content. It was not explicit, but was definitely more detailed than a YA novel would be, so if that is not your cup of tea, then maybe you should avoid this one.

Altogether, a good novel. I'll check out other books by Kristie Cook.

This is a great start to a series, i cannot wait to read more! I was a little put off when i found out Jeric was deaf but because I love her other series I kept reading and I'm glad I did. I love the whole 2 souls as one theory. I really believe that everyone has their "other-half." Read this book!

As a whole I enjoyed the story. Even after 12 hr shifts I had to come and read at least an hour. I don't really read paranormal books but I liked the mystery of what could happen next. I'm interested in reading the next book in the series.

Superb!!!

Omg I feel like a right belter I’ve had this book on my kindle since 2013 and am kicking my self for not reading it sooner we’ll the whole series actually but that will be amended Now!!

This is real good story building at its best not rushed or dragged out just the perfect amount of angsty drama to keep you on the edge of your seat and reading cause you need to know the story. It’s been awhile since I’ve read a whole book just for fun and found one that’s kept my attention like there one did diving straight into book 2 now I’m desperate to know about the space in between..............

*For some reason this review was hard to write spoiler free, but I attempted anyway*

The Space Between is set up really interestingly. There are multiple point of views and also a shift in the time frame. The book splits between present 2012 and past 1989. There are two couples in the book and I liked getting to see an in depth look at the 1989 couple as well through the journal that Leni found.

Leni seemed to get most of the book "air time" so I consider her the main character. I liked Leni a lot. She is a strong one. The hard part about what is happening to her and Jeric and then 1989 couple as well, is that the people closest to them start forgetting about them first. That has to sting. You are esentially left all alone, when your whole "old life" is basically taken from you. No one remembered her. She came back from outside the country to find that her home and uncle were gone. How crazy is that? I would totally feel like I was losing my mind. Especially with these mysterious flame tattoos showing up out of no where. Yea, I don't know if I would have been able to hold it together like she did.

Jeric was interesting too. He was a deaf player. And he was a huge player. A major hit it and quit it type. But there was insta attraction to Leni for reasons that you will find out later on. I liked that the whole book was kind of shrouded in mystery. It was kind of like a "these things are happening now and you will be confused and you won't know why but you are being kept in the dark for a reason and you will find out in due course" type of plot. Sometimes that works for me and sometimes it frustrates me. I will admit that it took me a little bit to get into this book. I hadn't fully connected with Leni when the first time shift occured and then I was getting to know the "first" couple so I wasn't fully invested in Leni, and therefore not as interested. But then the book started to pick up for me and the mystery surrounding everything started working. I really enjoyed it. It made me just want to keep reading faster and faster so I could find out what was happening.

I loved the romance in the book. At first I wasn't totally feeling it but the couples grew on me. At first it kind of felt more like a compulsion rather than romance but as you learn more about what is happening to/with them and you get to know the character more it completely became real for me. Really fantastic actually.

This is my first book by Kristie Cook and I was really hugely impressed with the quality of writing. She has a way with words. It is no wonder why everything thinks she is an amazing writer. I completely agree and I can't wait to read some of her other books! I like that this is going to be a series. Now that some of the background has been laid and some of my questions have answers I am totally ready to dive into the next book.
