While the first half of this book was still a lot of the setting up of the rest of the action of the Kyoto arc, I felt that there was a lot more character development (also I am just happy the family is all back together) than in the previous volume. Also, the action and fighting is finally under way, and I just enjoyed the development of everything here.

Now past anything I know about the storyline, we get to see Kenshin's past quite a bit. The whole book is more a build up to a storm that kind of has an ending, I'll be curious to find out how much longer this particular storyline is carried on. Relationships are developing too... in any case, looking forward to the next one.

Absolutely enjoy this series, in all formats! And Shishio Makoto remains one of my all time favorite villains!
