It has some good parts/elements but I thought the story progression, weird and the characterization a bit inconsistent. It's not too bad though.

Where's the ending? Grrr. I don't mind series books, but I don't like cliffhangers! What happened to the stinking jewels? I read all the way to the end to find out, and it wasn't answered. I HATE that.

This was a 3 star read until I got to the ending that wasn't an ending. It lost a star for that. I have the next book in the series, so I'll find out soon enough (unless it isn't answered in that one, either!) but I like each book to be self-contained.

I wanted this book to be good so very badly, but it turned out to be meh. Felt very rushed, got to make those deadlines I guess.

I enjoyed this one quite a bit more than the first. So much so in fact, that I devoured the book in less than a day. I think we're just that little bit closer to finding out the complete story about the missing jewels. :)
