Don't judge this based on the cover. It's actually a really cute RomCom.

when the mc started telling his sister about the fc after their first meeting ? when they began obsessing over each other after ONE meeting? i love me some obsessed couples. i knew it would be for me
this book had a bit of everything good : fun, hotness, chemistry, good characters, a good plot ( I LOVE SPORTS romance, i love the olympics i love that’s she’s a football player and he’s a swimmer), and angst
oh and i love forbidden romance

also let’s go back to that first meet ? it was ridiculous and hilarious i LOVED it

too bad i feel they took it too far with the crazy ´fiancée’ (or whatever), it became boring quite fast

THIS WAS GLORIOUS.

R.S. Grey's book have quickly become some of my FAVORITE books to read! They're a quick, funny, cute read and I absolutely adore them!

Settling the Score is about a 21 year old Olympic athlete named Andie Foster. It's her first time she's going to the olympics, and she couldn't be more excited to be there. While in Rio, she meets Freddie Archibald, who's been to the Olympics multiple times before and is off limits.

I first became interested in this book for two reasons: it's written by RS Grey (duh) and it had Kinsley and Becca in it! I loved Kinsley and Becca SO much in Scoring Wilder, I just had to read this book to see what they were up to a few years later. Then I read the synopsis of this book and I had to read it ASAP. An Olympic soccer player and swimmer is just A+. I approve highly. (They both have the dedication I wish I had to working out.)

Andie is a really funny protagonist. She has a lot of wit but is also super smart and determined and knows what she wants. Freddie is just perfection (hello, he's British. British guys though. Let's be real.) I also loved loved loved Freddie's sister, Georgie. I laughed so much when Andie called her Georgia. And the banter between not understanding British or America slang was pretty funny too.

Kinsley, Becca, and Liam were a great bonus to this book and I loved how they were all so protective and cared so much about Andie. It made me so happy.

Andie's mom was also a really funny part, especially how she kept bugging Andie to get a picture of the Duke.

I have absolutely adored every book I've read by RS Grey this far, and this one was not an exception! I love how quick a read it is, but at the same time I don't want it to end. I'm (im)patiently waiting for August to read the second book! And I'm super excited that it's about a gymnast this time!

I highly recommend Settling the Score, especially since summer and the Olympics are quickly approaching!

For someone who likes sports romances, oddly enough I’m not a sports enthusiast—except when it comes to the Summer Olympics. I’m a huge fan and find myself glued to the TV for three weeks every four years. R.S. Grey is a new-to-me author, but when I heard she was writing a Rom-Com that takes place during the Summer Olympic Games I was sold.

Andie Foster is an American soccer player and Olympic rookie on the cusp of greatness. She’s been all work and no play while training for the games. Now that Andie has finally made it to Rio, she’s determined to let loose and fully enjoy her first Olympic experience—including hooking up with a hot athlete. Enter Freddie Archibald, a British three-time Olympian and superstar swimmer who’s going for a medal-winning record. (Think Michael Phelps, only a thousand times hotter.)

The chemistry between Andie and Freddie is undeniable, even though his availability status is questionable. As obstacles begin to pile up, I couldn’t help but root for these two likeable characters. The main conflict could have been easily nipped in the bud, but I was in the mood for a fun means of escape so I let it slide. Andie’s two best friends and teammates, however, seem like caricatures in the beginning. Their actions are so annoyingly over the top that they detracted from my enjoyment of the story initially. I was glad their antics eventually toned down.

Freddie, Andie, and the Olympic background are what appealed to me the most. One of my favorite characters is Freddie’s hilariously quirky sister, Georgie. Her spunky, sarcastic, and fun-loving attitude makes her deserving of her own book. I hope she gets one.

The author had me feeling like an Olympian with all the behind the scenes action. I got wrapped up in the practices, the thrill of competition, life in the Olympic Village, the wild parties, and press events.

Some elements may seem a bit farcical, but all in all it’s good fun. The end had me swooning and smiling—exactly how I want a Rom-Com to make me feel. The Summer Games: Settling the Score is an entertaining light-hearted romance featuring enjoyable characters in a lively setting. If you’re looking for brief departure from reality, this should fit the bill. I’ll definitely be reading more work by R.S. Grey.

I think it's weird that I read the second book first.. but oh well. No regrets.

Settling the Score was really cute. In it, you will meet Andie and Freddie. Ugh, the rhyming alone is adorable and they were really cute together. From the first moment they met, these two had sparks. Insta-chemistry but of course something was in the way of them becoming anything.

Once that obstacle was sort of out of the way, these two kind of hit it off rather quickly. The smut was amazing but of course.. knowing me and these kind of books, I was waiting for the other shoe to drop. It dropped and it tore these two apart. I honestly don't understand he whole lying or secret fake relationship with an ex because of their public image thing. That whole reason was just stupid and I'm glad it backfired on him.

Freddie definitely had to realize his ex was psycho.. it just sucks that Andie had to deal with it mostly. Luckily for these two, they finally realize how stupid they were and basically made the other a priority. I also really enjoyed the karma justice for the ex - such a psycho.

Overall, it was cute and I'm now wondering if there are more books from this series...

spoiler - there isn't but there should be.
