I adored this book.  It is as engaging and in the same style as Brooklyn, so if you were a fan of that book, you will enjoy this one.  You don’t have to have read Brooklyn, but it does aid the enjoyment of this book.  I think the story arc is great.
However, I have a huge gripe with the audiobook, read by Jessie Buckley. A huge number of place names in Wexford are pronounced wrong, (Bunclody, Knocknasillogue, Glenbrien and Curracloe).  This areas are all well known to Toibin, so he must not have heard the audio of his book.  Terrible.

I really enjoyed reading this, but I struggled to understand why Tony acted as he did (
his infidelity seemed very out of character
) and I’d have liked a little more conclusion at the end.

A story of lost love, new love and
complicated relationships. The main characters are conflicted and trying to recapture the past, but reality interferes… or does it ?

Cute story about small town Ireland. Not plot heavy, but nice to read.
