Such a fun read. Virginia's "runaway aunt"-- her mom's younger sister, a flighty, creative artist-- left for Europe several years ago without telling the rest of her family, and they learned a few months ago that she had died over there after a bout with a long illness. But now Virginia has received a letter from her aunt, charging her with setting off on an adventure that will follow in Aunt Peg's footsteps. Before her death, Aunt Peg arranged everything, and Ginny can't take money or a cell phone or anything outside of what will fit in one backpack. First stop-- a Chinese restaurant in New York City, where she picks up a package that consists of 13 numbered envelopes. After she has followed the instructions in one letter, she may open the next. Ginny's adventure leads her first to London, where she meets Aunt Peg's friend Richard, and then to Scotland, Rome, Paris, the Netherlands, Copenhagen, and the Greek islands. Along the way, she slowly becomes aware of how much she is capable of, even after her backpack (and the 13th unread letter) is stolen in the Greek isles. A touch of romance adds to the story but does not overwhelm it. Readers who dream of their own European adventure will love rooting for Ginny and watching her grow during her journey.

This was cute. A fun little adventure for a girl that wouldn't normally go on one.

I think that the whole story had big potential but the execution was a little bit messy. In some parts, the story was rushing a lot while in others it was too slow and became a little bit boring. But this doesn't mean that is not a good book which truly is. I hope the sequel will explain some things.

Surprisingly fun travel/adventure/finding yourself YA novel. It doesn't have a super happily ever after ending. The book jumps around a lot, but that works, strangely enough.

Really I'd like to give this 3 1/2 stars. It was a very cute story and just an all around fun read. If I got down to the nitty gritty of it then yes, there were some semi-serious flaws and holes in the plot. But if you're just looking for a fast read that'll take you on a fun journey this is the book.

this was a solid 3.7! it was fun, engrossing, and upbeat. they never spent too long dwelling on any certain thing/place. is the writing, character development, or common sense factor amazing? not really. but is it a fun book to get lost in for a couple hours, and something i'd definitely reread? yes :)

Well this book wasn’t that bad, it was pretty great in fact. The reading was smooth and pleasing even though I would have liked more details in many chapters. We finish a chapter with Ginny in a country and in the next chapter she’s already in a different country doing her things but?? what happened?? Because of these kinds of lack, I felt lost sometimes. Otherwise, this book is worth reading if you want to travel with the protagonist and discover Europe!
