Fascinating story. Very original world-building and well-developed characters. Sweet love story, too. At times the story was gripping and I couldn't put the book down. But, and there are a few "buts" here, at other times I felt confused and lost.

Spencer didn't explain or describe "Reds" well and I had a difficult time picturing them for most of the book. Turk noted that he could "pass" as human most of the time, but not always. At other places in the book we have people who can tell at a glance who are "Reds" and "Blues" and other times one or more character doesn't seem to know. We are never told why there is a discrepancy. It seems arbitrary based on what the author needed for the plot. And I didn't find a good reason the "Reds" tended to think of themselves in terms of cats. There were a few other plot holes as well.

Also, after a pretty tense build-up, the final end of the suspense plot was more of a whimper. It wasn't terrible, just unexpectedly...over. And I would've really liked to see some more explanation abut what happened next. Maybe an epilogue set a few years in the future.

Mixed with the inventive universe and the sci-fi story, this book is about "man's inhumanity to man." As a cautionary tale..what happens when humans engineer a virtual slave race or produce clones...Endless Blue is powerful and definitely makes the reader think. On this level, the book could be compared to such works as The Children of Men, the movie Gattaca, and even Jurassic Park. I'd like to think we, as humans, wouldn't do this to a genetically modified group of people, create a whole class of people with no rights who are treated worse than animals, but our own history proves me wrong. The jarring incidences of violence, and the careless attitude to it many of the characters have, made the book a difficult and at times depressing read for me. But it's still a great story, and often a very powerful one as well.

A ship that had been lost a long time suddenly arrives and it gives everyone hope. Maybe the other ships aren't lost either. A brave captain with his half brother take on the task of finding the others. Only they are thrown into a world that is almost entirely made of oceans. Time is not what it seems and there are people from other races there as well.

A romance novel that happens to involve a lot of boats, both space and water. I had serious problems with the conditioning of the Blues and the general horniness of Reds. Like, yikes.

Interesting book, I like the excitement and also the mystery surrounding wtf is going on (don't worry, they figure it out in the end)!
Gets a little religious/spiritual at the end, but in a way that mostly fits, I just felt it was a bit over done for my taste.
