This is charming in a very old-fashioned way. Many people may find it a bit cloying (and I do find the children in these illustrations quite revolting), and I'll probably never read it again, but I am happy to have read it once.

This was a lovely little book to find in a 1935 hardback edition in an op shop. A sweet faerie story that warms the cockles of the heart.

Just a sweet, story with some great quotes about anger and how it destroys life.

A truly lovely book and just a pleasant little read. I am sure I will read this one again and again when I need something light and comfy.

A very positive and uplifting allegory, the theme being that it is possible to change your surroundings with good, positive thoughts. As usual, beautifully written by Frances Hodgson Burnett, yet it is a wonder that only a few of her books are well known. She deserves to be more widely read.

This is a nice little bedtime story about a King and how he changed anger to kindness. A quick read as well
