"There is nothing ordinary about you or this remarkable world we inhabit. There is wild beauty, there is poetry, alive all around you. The secret is simply knowing where to look."

I just finished this poetry book and I loved it!
Not all poems resonated with me, but the ones that did really hit home.
A lot of the poems are about love and partners, and they seem to be true, but I sadly can't relate.
I really liked that a lot of poems encourage you to be your best self. And that you can learn and grow from things that cause you pain.

One thing really stuck with me:
"You may not always feel strong, but you can always be brave."
My other favorite poems were definitely 'the deep night', 'the symphony of the earth' and 'a true friend'

I will definitely go check out other books from thos author!
I'm going to rate this 4/5 stars :)

Thanks to Andrews McMeel Publishing for the ARC!

I requested this book because I really needed to read something inspiring. Something that made me want to see beauty in this world. These poems are so beautiful. They truly made me feel better in many ways... But I feel like I've already read other similar works before, and I was hoping to feel something different this time. That's the only reason I'm giving it 3 stars, but it's just a personal opinion... Oh, and the graphic work is absolutely stunning!

I was already familiar with the author, which is why I downloaded this book. All and all it was an enjoyable and quick read, but it very much follows the "tumblr poetry" style which, at this point, has grown a bit tired for my personal taste. There were still a few texts that resonated with me, but nothing I think will be memorable enough that I'll find myself thinking of it at a later date. Still, if someone asked me whether or not they should read this book my answer would definitely be a yes! Just because it wasn't my favourite doesn't mean someone else won't enjoy it a lot more!

Thank You Netgalley for the e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

Let me start by saying that this book is absolutely magical and a delight to read. Beau Taplin's writing left my heart feeling full. The collection was beautifully written, captivating, and easily relatable. It covers a range of topics such as self- acceptance, self- discovery, healing, finding the magic in the little things.

I will definitely be picking up a copy and look forward to read more from the author.

However, I feel like the poetry could have been better organized.

Review also posted to my Goodreads account.

I quite liked this because I, too, try to find magic and love in everything.

This was one of my first ventures into poetry and I liked it!

Here at Dawn includes a collection of poems about varous topics, however there is a pattern of self-love and striving for improvement throughout.

It took me a little while to get into but the author writes in beautiful prose and manages to capture feelings one has frequently but cannot put their finger on or put into words. Some of the poems were incredibly powerful in how raw and honest they were.

Beau Taplin uses beautiful metaphors to describe feelings. Some of the poems were definitely on the sad side, while others felt almost inspiring which I feel deeply grateful for.
