I enjoyed the 2nd half of the book once I had figured out the world and government systems.

If I didn't read this for book club, I would've DNF'd it halfway through.
One thing is clear, Roth should stick to YA. Throwing out some curse words and adding a rated PG sex scene does not an adult book make.

This book is riddled with plot holes, flat and boring characters, and an indifferent government. I had one page to go and fell asleep.

However, unlike The Guest List (⭐️), this book does deliver on good discussion topics around propoganda and technology, and a corrupt government. But definitely not worth the read. A word to my fellow readers, skip this one.
