I'm attracted to the monstrous feminine in Arcan's writing. The complete and utter debasement, self-hatred, and destruction/self-destruction appeal to an uglier self, a self with unchecked rage.

I was put off by some brief offhand casual racism in some dialogue that is off putting though these are terrible people destroying themselves and one another.
