Were it not for Toph's epiphany, I would probably have given this two stars. It has interesting things to say about colonialism and the demands of leadership, but I hate what it's doing with Zuko. His arc is one of the most interesting in the series, and this book seems to be undoing everything the show did with him. It's made him into Ozai Jr, which takes away from his progress as a human being and the way he overcame his abuse. The show made it seem he knew Uncle Iroh's was the counsel he should seek, yet here he tosses that aside. Plus, Aang and Katara are nauseating, and their romance has always weirded me out, given how young Aang is.

I really enjoyed Toph’s Metal Bending school arc. I really missed Sokka at his finest. I overall enjoyed this comic, and I’m super excited for what’s next to come.
