A decent little collection of short stories. The writing and characterizations were overall good but the mysteries weren’t very memorable.

A lot of the stories had unsatisfactory endings. This is due to the fact that these stories are based off of references made in the canon but were never written up, so the author of this collection had to come up with various reasons for why they weren’t published. Some of these explanations make sense while others seem a bit far fetched.

One major issue I had was with the final story.
Mycroft creates and spreads a lie about the main criminal of the case to force the criminal’s brother (who is a member of Parliament) to stop looking into the case. Based on the canon we don’t know much about Mycroft, but this felt too malicious and out of character to how I imagined him.

Other than that the stories are fine and easy reading.

Ehn. Competent, if uninspiring, "missing" case files based off of references to undocumented cases in canon. A pleasant diversion but nothing grabbing.
