Had a good concept but poor execution. The constant talk of Fight Club was so weird. Unnecessary ego stroking that did nothing for the story.

Helter skelter! A prescient read about essentially a war of the races that results in the dissolution of the United States into separate regions based on race and sexual preference. A vision of the future? Or a critique of the past? And a fairly good story to boot, although not one of my favorites of Palahniuk’s.

Haha the part where Fight Club comes in was exactly where I was thinking, "I'm kinda thinking about FC right now," and then there you go-- Palahniuk is writing about Palahniuk.

There's is nothing that compares to reading a Chuck Palahniuk novel. His perspective, his way of seeing the world, or carrying a concept through to its conclusion is unique and disturbing and worth reading.

I gave up.

Too many branching storylines & a disjointed style outweighed all the positives (of which there were many)... But the meandering story broke up my attention span too far.
