Another of Lovett’s books that I have enjoyed. I am giving this a solid 4 heart rating. I always like that the cozy mysteries are nice and comfy and fast reads for me. These books take my mind f boring things while I am stuck late at work waiting for my lift and I have a headache from thinking too much. This book has let me loose myself for a short while.

Though I was dreading to reach the end because it is so difficult to find these in store where I’m from. I am still searching for more.

Now about this book: Lacy ‘Pink’ Pinkerton has left her 6 figure job behind to move to a small town. She has decided to open a flower shop. Though with her heightened sense of smell proves to be of use when she found someone dead in the small town. She finds herself caught up in the investigation with the detective, James Briggs. She is very determined to find the killer.

Sadly, this is the first of a series. I really want to read the rest of the series but still looking for the books near me. I did enjoy how quirky Pink is. This was just a nice short read, and I would like to see how the rest of the series develop.

Actually enjoyed reading this book. Makes me want to ride a bike. A little too much emphasis on details though.

Normally these cozy mystery books are cute but not really well written. Just chopped full of cliched characters and silliness. But I loved this one. The characters were real, the mystery was interesting, and the MC is quirky but not stupid or scatterbrained. The only problem is the little town is just too darn perfect to be believable.

SpoilerOh, and I don't know if Hyperosmia is really that sensitive. It could have thrown off the story by being overly silly but it was written well enough to make it more interesting instead. Then again I do read a good bit of fantasy so my willingness to suspend reality is pretty strong.

The book is kinda slow paced and even the mystery didn't really evoke much interest. I do like the cozy feel to it but it's just the mystery isn't that interesting or weren't described in a way that's interesting. it isn't bad if a book and you can read it if you want to relax or something but the mystery aspect of it seem underwhelming.

Divertido!

A chick lit mixed with a mediocre cozy mystery. Not my favourite but also not the worst. The characters were intriguing but I don’t have much patience for the small town daily living. I probably won’t continue with the series as I find it harder to suspend disbelief as more and more murders occur in the same small town. It’s light hearted and it makes me want to pick up more cozy mysteries!

A nose for trouble:
Lacey, "Pink"Pinkerton gave up.her six figure career at a perfume company after a betrayl. She settled in the quaint town of Port Danby and opens a flower shop much to the despair of her mother.
When her neighbor is murdered, Pink and her super nose is on the job. Filled with loveable characters, quick one-liners and a crow named Kingston and cat named Nevermore, Marigolds and Murder is a fun quick read.

3.5 stars. I love Lacey. I love her pets. The story and setting were super cute. The end of the investigation seemed rushed and I think we missed out what could have been an awesome suspect confrontation. Maybe the next one will better.
