A Blissful and Most Welcome Artistic Distraction…

I will admit this one is a bit outside my normal Sadt Cookie review lexicon. However, I have been in love with Brita Lynn Thompson’s Zenspire Design stickers and artwork prints for a long time. I even have several of her motivational art prints hung in my studio where they are a daily reminder to keep on moving in my own direction, regardless of what’s going on around me. And let’s face it, the last thirteen months have been a dumpster fire, so, we can all use a bit of inspiration wherever we can get it! So, when I saw that Thompson had published an adult coloring book, well I had to check it out. And let me tell you, you will not be disappointed!

“Dream in Color”, a coloring book for creative minds, is a beautiful piece of artistic expression. It is a whimsical collection of forty bold, black and white illustrations done in Thompson’s trademark zentangle style, all ready and waiting for your markers, color pencils, or crayons (and yes, don’t lie, we all still love crayons regardless of whether you’re four or forty). The collection even includes line drawing reproductions of some her most popular sticker creations such as her, “make today an adventure” travel bus, and several of her hanging plants and flowers designs. There is truly something for everyone to enjoy within the pages of this unique little gem; she even includes a spectacular bonus at the back of the book with forty of her waterproof stickers added in. All contained between a gorgeous holographic cover!

Honestly, at a time when we could all use a more artistic, meditative moment away from everyday life, “Dream in Color” is simply a joyous, and most welcome distraction, something truly unique to pass a bit of down time in a more relaxed and inspiring way.
