Would be far more critical of the plot's meanderings if it wasn't so breezily readable and just funny - Pieper's analogies had me rolling and it's so easy to smash through 40 pages. One analogy I did roll my eyes at though is describing Gemma as "The face that Gauguin imagined when he grew so horny he sailed for Tahiti" and then Pieper turns around and makes Gemma the narrator you clever fuck
