First time reading a second chance romance with the divorce element. Lots of mental health awareness in this book.

Very emotional read, very character driven not much a plot.

I might just have to rethink my stance on second chance romances because this was fantastic. Kennedy Ryan wrote such well rounded characters with such complicated emotions. I was really in my feels. I wanted their happy ending for them so bad after everything they went through.

I think this is my first book of hers that I'm reading?? I may just have to read her backlog.

Also, I listened to this through the audiobook and the narrators were really good!!

Check your trigger warnings this book hits some HEAVY topics. There is so much talk about loss (seriously so much loss in this book) grief and mental health but it also has so much hope, strength, black love and excellence that it is truly a beautiful read.

I thought this was going to be a book about two people who were kidnapped together, but it was actually their story after they escaped! It was beautiful and healing and I loved the whole thing!
