While I like the idea of the duff working through her issues and realizing that we are all the duff at some time, I could have done without the language and the immorality.

I seem to be one of the only people on the planet that did not particularly enjoy this book.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book.

There were some elements of this book I found to be original for a contemporary YA read, but there were many elements of this book that rubbed me up the wrong way, and overall I just didn't enjoy it. The movie leaves out many of the elements I enjoyed, but makes better many of the elements I did not. What can ya' do?

After all the hype over this book, I expected it to be really good. The main character was shallow and indecisive. If this is high school now, then I fear for our future generations. The writing fell flat in many places and it just didn't read well. It was a quick read though, I'll give it that.

I've been warned, this book is nothing like the movie. Only the names and the term DUFF are there. So, Bianca is a teenager who has self esteem issues (clearly, as she thinks she's ugly but I didn't get that from her background). She is also dealing with family issues (which, after the big boom, are resolved way too easily), with her ex boyfriend and with herself as well. The romance does blend in nicely, but the sex scenes were awkward, like the writer wanted to write more, but she held her pen back. All in all, I didn't really like it as much as I expected to, so 2 out of 5.

Cute story. Some of the dialog and circumstances felt contrived to me. The main character had to grow on me a bit before I cared about her. Love the friendship between the 3 girls. A quick and entertaining read.

I heard mixed things about this book so I wanted to read it before I made the decision to put it in my library. I liked how this book was just not about hooking up but also other things that teens go through. I probably wouldn't put it in my library but would recommend it to a senior or someone who has just graduated.

Bianca is one of those characters that are so real and totally relatable especially for me. I can see that some people wouldn't like her but I thought she was refreshing and honest. I really liked this story and felt that I haven't read a story like this in about a year.

Even though Wesley was a huge womanizer he definately one of those characters that you love to hate. I think I would have fallen for him too.

Her two best friends were great because I like how opposite they were but they were always there for each other.

I'm excited about reading more from Kody Keplinger!

I had a few problems with it, and it took me some time to get immersed in the story. The pacing picked up after page 60, and it was then that I was sucked into the story. I enjoyed the dialogue and liked reading about most of the characters - especially Casey and Jessica - but Bianca's decisions and actions sometimes pissed me off. Sometimes, the story got kind of predictable and clichéd, and nothing that happened surprised me. Also, I wish the ending wasn't as rushed as it was and we had gotten to see at least one real Bianca-Wesley date.

overall, it was a good read, but didn't live up to my expectations.

I can't believe I'm giving this book 5 stars. :D Unexpected, funny, light, an easy-read. A refreshing break from my serious reads. And definitely better than the movie. :)
