Four women meet in Myrtle Beach for a 4th of July Sorority reunion. Coincidentally, right next door 4 men are staying for a Navy Buddy reunion. Even more of a coincidence is that 3 of the 4 women know 3 of the men, leaving only 1 set of strangers to hook-up. Each author has taken a separate couple.
LK Shaw's characters first showed up in her book The Navy Seal's Secret Baby. Callie and Kyle hooked up in Miami but Callie didn't want a long-distance relationship so she pulled back. Now they are staying next door to each other and the heat is still there between them. LK does a great job of letting you into the character's heads so you know what they are thinking and how they feel. She makes you want to help these 2 overcome any obstacle so they can be together.
In Twice in a Lifetime, Tmonique Stephens tells the story of Lianna and Gannon. These two definitely know each other since they were married and divorced ten years ago. Life has moved on but the spark is still there when they get together. Tmonique does a great job with these characters. She lets their feelings come out - both good and bad and you really want to see these 2 get together again.
In the third story, The Storm Within, Christa Ann does an amazing job of helping two damaged people come together and start to heal. Trevor is home on leave with PTSD while Skye is off work after being attacked and injured by a patient with PTSD. These two are both hurting and Christa helps you feel their pain and you ca sympathize with each of them in their situation. You are hanging on every word waiting to see if they will go back to their old lives or try to forge a life together.
The final story is Who's Lovin' Who? by Michelle deLeon writing as Bria Aragon. This last couple are actually married although they are staying in separate houses with their friends. They also just got out of a relationship with a 3rd party - another woman. Of all the stories in this book this was my least favorite. I didn't really have feelings for these characters and couldn't really relate to their situation.
All in all, this book was worth a look and I enjoyed it.
