First shifter book after reading Annette’s The Silver Kiss.
Such a wonder YA shifter story. It’s been so long since I read the book but I do occasionally think of it.

I found this book unbelievably boring. Nothing happened in this book. She’s a werewolf. Loves a boy. Endangers boy. Tries to kill herself. Almost dies at hands of boy she loves. Ends up falling in love with someone else. The end. Saved you a lot of boring pages!! Read something else.

This book has always been one of my favorites. It's sort of hard to put my finger on why. It's isn't necessarily a great story, but I think it speaks to how stupid we can be when we think we're in love, but are really just lost in obsession. It also talks a lot about how it can be hard to love ourselves when it shouldn't be. So please remember to love yourself. ♥

Not as good as I remembered in high school. And there was a little statutory rape implied that I'd totally forgotten about... So... Yeah.

This was my favorite book during my middle school and high school years. Kind of embarrassing, I guess, when I know others' favorites at that age were high-and-mighty classics, but I guess there's no sense in being ashamed of what keeps (or kept) us going when we needed it most.
You probably won't get out of this book what I did, and that's okay. I'm sure you've got your own favorite, its cover weathered, its pages soft from turning. You know, that book that makes you smile every time you see it on its shelf. The one that reminds you who you are, or who you were. Both are important.
This book spoke to me about issues of loss, confused identity, the inability to fit in no matter how hard and desperately you try, and the struggle of a young artist. And obviously, it meant a lot.
