Reading for the first time in 2024. As another reviewer commented, the consent here is excellent! Not sure why this is tagged as erotica, as it reads like standard, open-door romance to me. The plot wasn't the most exciting but entertaining enough. This was a pretty fast and straightforward read, thought I don't think I need to seek out the next in this series.

This book was impeccable!! The chemistry between Kate & Rylan and their characters flaws along with how they deal with it and just grow. They are both in Paris for different reasons but neither knows that the other is the answer to their future and for their character development later on. You find out pretty early on that Rylan is definitely hiding something that himself that could explain his current state emotionally. Slowly you get little hints here and there but then the bubble burst and you can't help but feel for him & Kate. I can't I REPEAT I can't wait for the next book... It only took 7 days for them to throw caution to the wind and fall in love then hate the other and now Rylan is asking for & more to prove to Kate that he is there for her. This was just such a passionate and broken story and I loved every page turn that came with it. Thank you for the opportunity to have read this book!

Kate was looking for inspiration and a once in a lifetime trip to Paris is just what she needs. She's dreamed of becoming an artist but needs to find herself in her artwork. What she doesn't expect to find is Rylan, American ex-pat running from family obligations. Rylan is used to getting what he wants and Kate just happens to be next on his list. As he gets to know the woman behind the art he finds himself falling hard. But he started this relationship with a lie and he is not sure how he'll ever get Kate to fully trust him. Kate has had some bad luck with men and the time she spends with Rylan shows her what true feelings can be. When she discovers his secrets she runs, from her feelings and from the spark she was finding in her artwork. Can Rylan find the right path to lead him back to Kate or will he lose this one good thing that has come in to his life? Interesting start from a new-to-me author. I found the story was more sweet than steamy but I loved the sparks between Kate and Rylan. The story does not wrap up with book one so there is still more to come from these two.

I didn't like this one. I think it had to do with Rylan. Being in his head and hearing how he used to "prey" on women bugged me. It's disappointing because both this book and it's sequel looked like books I'd love.

Two young adults would cross paths in the most romantic city in the world, Paris. Each of them with their own problems and insecurities, but they will find something precious together: love. Will seven nights be enough to surrender?
I have to say that I was expecting something more in this book; Kate is an artist simply enjoying Paris while she tries to decide what to do with her life. On the other hand, Ryan just wants to spend the nights with pretty girls. It sounds a bit cliché, don't you think? They meet, talk and fall in love... and then of course waking up, the problems...
I can not say I didn't enjoy the book, it is funny, tender and the scenes are quite hot. But I was expecting something more touching and realistic... This book will continue in "Eight Ways To Ecstasy", will see how this passion story continues in the real life...
How many night do you need to fall in love?

This was good. I didn't know going in that it's really a set-up for the series, and while it doesn't end on a cliff-hanger, exactly, it also doesn't end with the story wrapped up, either. I like the characters and writing enough that I'll probably keep reading, though.

Seven Nights to Surrender was a lovely, swoon-worthy read that had me wishing for a Parisian adventure of my own with sexy stranger.

After graduating from college, Kate left New York to travel to Paris to find herself, her artistic voice and to make some big decisions about her future. She's been in Paris for a couple of days when she got mugged while buying coffee. A sexy stranger came to her rescue and she found herself reluctantly spending the day with him. Rylan had all the right moves and smooth words when picking up pretty girls. He's been living in Paris for a while to distance himself from his family after his father's scandal and avoiding the responsibilities he must now shoulder. Kate soon found herself spending the rest of her trip with Rylan--he as Kate's tour guide around Paris during the day and at night he seduced her promising passion and satisfaction, which Kate lacked with her previous partners... and, yep, he delivered! But Rylan was keeping a big secret and telling Kate might mean losing her even before she goes back home.

I thoroughly enjoyed Seven Nights to Surrender. First of all, it was set in Paris and I love books set in a different country. The author did a great job with the setting--while reading it I experienced the city with the characters like I would've if I was watching a movie set in Paris. The mention of specific locations and art work spurred me to do a whole bunch of image searching, which is something I love to do when I read a book set in a different country and I can vicariously travel with the characters. I even ended up watching Amelie again (probably the 56576th time--love it!!) because Kate and Rylan visit Montmartre. Anyway, I had a great time with the setting!

The characters were amazing as well. I warmed up to Kate sooner than I did with Rylan. We're reminded over and over again that Rylan was a player. He constantly picked up tourist girls and loves the no string attached sex they provide. When he met Kate he was methodical, giving her a line and deliberate touches to essentially get in her pants. He came off a spoiled, entitled rich boy and I didn't like him a first few chapters. But, then we see him falling for Kate and start caring for her and seeing his vulnerable side and I softened towards him. Then, I just wanted to give him a hug because I felt sorry for him with how he grew up with his awful parents and he's such a lonely guy. Soon, I was rooting for him to win Kate because he needed someone like her in his life. Swoon.

Kate suffered from years of belittlement and abuse from her estranged father, and then from her lying ex-boyfriend. Her self-esteem was very much bruised, especially when it came to her artistic ability, but she's working towards gaining it back. She's also on constant guard when it came to men. I felt for Kate and I dreaded her learning that Rylan was keeping a huge secret and lying to her.

Rylan and Kate were amazing together. Things happened pretty quickly since everything happened in a week's time. But it didn't feel insta-love-y or rushed--the pacing of their relationship felt natural. The chemistry between them was off the charts and the sexytimes were steamy and plentiful. I loved the care Rylan took with Kate and her sexual hang-ups. My favorite scene with them was when Kate drew Rylan in the nude. I was getting Titanic vibes there, but it was wonderful.

Seven Nights to Surrender was a winner--very well-written and very readable. Really, this is what new adult should be. I wouldn't call it a light read, but it's not so dark with all the serious issues up the ying-yang and filled with all the drama that it's exhausting to read. There were some fun and sweet moments to balance the more serious ones. Add to that the Paris setting and, all in all, the author did a great up. I loved Seven Nights to Surrender and I cannot wait to read the next book in the series (which won't come out until April--noooo!!) to see what will become of Kate and Rylan. I'm also going to be looking into Jeanette Grey's backlist books because I really like her style and her voice. I highly recommend Seven Nights to Surrender, especially if you're a fan of romance and new adult.
