I liked this one. I think I liked book 1 in the series more ([b:Vicious|30839185|Vicious (Sinners of Saint, #1)|L.J. Shen|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1481945407l/30839185._SY75_.jpg|51437887]), just because I was in a bit of an a$$hole kick when reading these and Trent, while slightly obnoxious and egotistical, is not really that mean to Edie. I mean, she gives as good as she gets.

The age gap was NOT a problem for me. And I really liked how their relationship developed while they both immediately acknowledged their attraction. The underlying issues going on with their respective families, Luna and Edie's entire situation created a good obstacle for the purposes of the story while also not creating a stupid conflict solely for the third act.

They knew they were at odds from the beginning and they pursued the relationship anyway. I also liked Edie and Luna's dynamic. Trent in general was a great dad so it humanized him A LOT.

Totally recommend this one.

Let me start by saying this book was not great.

There were some comments made by Trent that made me uncomfortable.
“She looked so much like a kid I wanted to punch myself in the balls for imagining her,” and again at
“Edie’s legs were still curve-less, two straight toothpicks. Not very different from Luna’s.”

Now, who would imagine or compare a woman you’re interested in to your daughter like that. This book didn’t do the age gap trope justice unlike, ‘Birthday Girl,’ which I enjoyed and rated 5 stars. This on the other hand, is getting two stars with uncomfortable comments and that the romance was extremely boring in my opinion. Yes, there were some genuine moments and there was somewhat of a good connection but I didn’t feel the chemistry.

Usually I don’t do long reviews unless I have lots of thoughts or if I hate / love it but this one needed some type of a review with how bad it was.

Wow amazing book

This book keeps you on a ride that will keep you going and not know which way it will turn or if it will twist.

Elise is working to try to save money to protect someone important to her and she starts out by stealing purse or wallets. Elise isn’t living a great life as she is having to be a mother and take care of her mother. Elise one day steals the wrong purse form the wrong women and gets caught by her dads partner. Then Elise has to work at the office and work around Trent which Starts a issues as Trent doesn’t want her their as he has felling for her.

Trent is a 30 yr single father that has had a crap life and nothing has happened good for him. Lune his daughter that he loves very much, mom left when she was baby and she doesn’t speak. Comes to when he is around Elise he has a feeling to get her to bed even though he knows she is way to young for him. But the one time his daughter is around Elise she is more happy and express herself more.

This book will that you on a run of twist and turns and you will think you have it all figured out when things change and something new happens and you just have to know what happens next. I started reading at 10 a night and had to put down at 3am to get sleep but first thing when woke up I started reading again.

Instead, she arches one eyebrow, opens her lips, and lets the words fall out, awarding her father with the best present he could ever have.
“Say yes.”

I had really really mixed feelings about this book, from the moment I started it- simply put: I’m not really a fan of age-gap romances. They always leave me feeling skewed and off tilt and I kind of hate that, lmao. And even now, 5 stars later, I still don’t think I’ll ever be completely on board with them. And yet - this book is so beautiful: the plot, the characters, I love each and all of them so much, especially Luna. She had my whole heart wrapped around her from the second she was introduced, and seeing her relationship with her father (and later, Edie) was probably the best part of this entire book. The quote^ above, that one line- hands down, the most heart wrenching sentence ever. I don’t really have much to say, except Trent really disturbed me at some points: more so in the beginning of the book, and I still don’t feel completely comfortable with him, but all those *actions* aside, I loved him and his drive, his love for his daughter- I really wish he was more devoted/loving/active with her though, and not only because Edie asked him to, or had suggestions about things. She’s your daughter? Jesus Christ.

Edie! I loved her so much! I really like it when female mcs are well-portrayed and not just shells designed to be a love interest, and I’m really happy it wasn’t like that here. She was brave and oh so daring, until the bitter end and I’m fiercely glad that she got her happy ending: Trent, her brother, and her mother. (And her f*ther behind bars is just a plus one).

All that said. I wouldn’t say TrentxEdie are my favourite SOS couple, but they definitely had their strong points:) It’s very late (and I’m positively exhausted) and I’m typing this on my phone (and can barely tell what I’ve said) so I’m gonna stop rambling in this mess of a “review” now, but yeah. Luna Rexroth lives matter!
