A good story. Doctorow used an interesting method to break up sections, indicating how many days after the diege started. I really liked the narrator since her voice became the voice of the girl in my head. While it may be written for young adults, it would have to be mature young adults due to some gore and strong language. An interesting morality tale of piracy vs. patents. The city started out pirating drugs to save people's lives, but it expanded to books and entertainment. In this case, piracy won. Not surprising, if you know Doctorow. The ending had a little bit of love interests reappearing.
