Despite the title, this book is not all sweetness and light, as we learn about the protagonist's, Dulci's, life. We find out about her only in death and through the stories and secrets of those closest to her. It was an unfolding of a life as it folded. Not a dull moment in a book that also reveals the ups and downs of the island country of Jamaica and a bright light that leaves it.
