Probably not the right fit for my mood when I picked it up. Will revisit when in the mood for slow burn noir again.

At times bleak, I enjoyed this collection of stories. The first part of the book is based on Jealously (some of the ones in Power also are about jealousy tho), and is the strongest part. There are a few stories that are dystopian breakdown of society and how people have to survive. The writing is excellent and I love when I learn something new, like in this case: rock climbing, Pamplona, and Botswana. His books can be very dark, but this one doesn't get as graphic as some of his novels, which I like. Would recommend, but if you're looking for an easy read, this is not it, the book is very dense, and each story required A LOT of thinking.

I was afraid his writing wouldn’t hit the same since my taste in reading has changed quite a bit since last picking up one of his books, but I worried over nothing. It still hit exactly how it used to and I couldn’t be happier. Accessible and not too deep while still giving you something to think about.
