I almost want to give this a 4 out of 5 stars, but I didn't find the story as compelling as the first Hedge Knight graphic novel. The writing and the artistry are top notch and the story is a nice little pick-me-up while I wait for book 6.

I liked this one but it was probably my least favourite entry in the ASOIAF series so far.

I still love the characters of Dunk and Egg and will read the third novella as soon as possible.

Great art. Could read stories from this universe forever.

The Sworn Sword is in my opinion a step down from the origin story of the Hedge Knight. While character development is throng and we get to see a more mature Sir Doug, there is a pacing problem that is diluting the good parts of the book. Specifically, there is not much happening in the first half except from exposition and expectation setting for the much more interesting second part. If you can get through this overlong hurdle then the rest is worth a read.

Like the first, this too was also a colorful and faithful adaptation to George R.R. Martin's short stories about Ser Duncan the Hedge Knight and his squire Egg.

I hope that the third short story in the series, Mystery Knight, is also made into a graphic novel.

Again I've just finished reading the novella for the sworn sword and decided to read this.

And again I really enjoyed it; it was the exact story from the novella so there was nothing new or different which was good. It was really nice to see the story actually visualised though this and see how the images I had in my head whilst reading the novella matched up to this. I felt that the artwork in this was so much better than in the hedge knight.

You don't have to read the novella to get the most out of this as it is basically the exact words from the novella and would be great if you prefer graphic novels to novels/books.

This sequel was so so. I wasn't as invested in this one like I was in the first book. The first one was excellent in every way. Dunk and Egg <3

Not a great sequel. Nothing of consequence happened. The 4th star is for the perty artwork.

A must for ASOIAF maniacs like myself. If you really love the world of ASOIAF you shouldn't skip this one. Some really great background on the Blackfyre rebellion. Also, an interesting look at Bloodraven's role in the rebellion. He's only going to be increasingly relevant in future ASOIAF volumes.

And I just love Dunk. What a character. Plus every time I see his shield I think of Brienne and then my heart hurts.
