A great coming-of-age novel about a teenager struggling with some dark inner demons. I was really impressed with the novel because it didn't sugar-coat some of the real trauma that teenagers have to live through, we're definitely not all suburban Leave-it-to-Beaver types.

Danny, the protagonist, has to deal with some dark things years before he's emotionally ready and I think The Greyhound did a good job of capturing the confusion and turmoil in his life. There's a point that all teenagers go through, where they realize the world is bigger than their small bubble, that their parents are real people with flaws and that those around them are affected by their actions and this novel highlights that moment in Danny's life very well.
