Nice blend of fairy tales. Some mystery to keep you wanting to know what happened. A good read.

Loved the narrator, but I still think I would have enjoyed this more in written form.

It's a very typical fairy tale story. Lots of magic, true love, and adventure. I think some might have a hard time swallowing the story in the beginning especially if the reader doesn't care for the instant-love. But I was in the mood for a fairy tale and that's what this is. Everything works out in the end and it leaves the door open for the rest of the series. I couldn't help but like it. It's like eating dark chocolate ice cream with sprinkles. And there's nothing wrong with that. :-)

I took a lengthy break from this book, and tried to get back into it last night, but I just can't. The meandering plot and first person blank-voice narrative are making me actively dislike both hero and heroine. I'm done.
