Luscious illustrations, lovely poetry and a book that addresses grief and loss beautifully.

It's fine and beautifully illustrated but didn't necessarily need to bring up grandparent death while using this for a pre-k class visit--my own fault for not pre-reading.

This book feels like it's 100 years old and I mean that in the best possible way. Calm, cool, and very cozy.

This is a heart-warming tale about the legacy left behind by a girl's Nanny after she passes away, in the form of her beautiful garden. The mother and daughter continue to tend to it and watch it blossom once again which is a lovely metaphor for death and acceptance, with the idea that our loved ones are always watching over us even when they die.
I loved how the pages are framed with flowers to show the Nan's influence and love for her family.

Thank you Edelweiss and Candlewick Press for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
I loved the imagery in this book. The illustrations are just so beautifully drawn and vibrant that it is so captivating. The story is also sad and uplifting on haw a garden through the seasons and life changes can still bring a family together.
