Is it just me, or is this series really dragging at this point?

NOT OK JAMES PATTERSON. NOT OK.

I loved the maximum ride series. When I read the first few, I was absolutely captivated. Winged teenagers running for their lives and surviving on their own? Absolutely incredible. But then they started this environmental crap, and all of a sudden Fang loves Max, and WHAT? The Final WArning and Max are at least tolerable, but the last three are a disapointment. Angel goes crazy, the stupid add on charecter Dylan comes in and starts a fricking LOVE TRIANGLE? NO. JUST NO. This book is about adventure, and that is exactly what i loved and respected about this series. A cool book for teens WITHOUT pointless love drama. And then theres this book. It is poorly developed, confusing and pointless. Fang has apparently immortal DNA or something, a concept they only develop for about 50 pages. Angel is alive, saved easily without fighting, and is completely ok. Fine. Fang comes back and Dylan goes crazy and breaks stuff. Really Dylan? I never liked you. THen what? Dr martinez comes back, explains she was brainwashed, and TAKES THEM ALL TO A FRICKIN PARADISE ISLAND. oh please. Then a giant tsunami comes and kills Max, Fang, Dylan, and Angel. LOL NOPE. They are alive and the book ends with them watching the world end. I can't even.

Finally! The last book in the series. A bit less than 4 stars, for being repetitive, mostly action-reaction to certain events.
Romance thrown in, but in a teen-like way, as the heroine and the heroes are way younger than 18.
The series as a whole was too long, I would not recommend to read the books all one after the other.
As with James Patterson other series (not having read most, to be sure), the books are written with a certain structure, that stays the same, and that is in all Pattersons books my main gripe. So 4 stars is too much for the whole series, 3 not enough, somewhere in between. And I am glad it has ended.
The ending is very good and has a few nice twists, but also some rather pathetic advice which is ok, but feels like a parent to a young child, but it is good advice and maybe that was the point of the whole series: to show what is important and how you can change the world, but not alone?!
Some scenes are very bloody and cruel, and they feel real, not like in a fairy tale. But for YA very good.
With these caveats and keeping in mind, that there are too many parts, recommended.

1. I hate love triangles.
2. Fang didn't die.
3. Max didn't die. The cover was misleading.
4. The prologue seemed rather pointless.
5. Why didn't Dylan die?
6. I'm glad the series is over. James Patterson wins gold medal for lamest series ending ever.
7. I'm done.

My final thoughts after reading this were that I'm a tad disappointed with the ending. I know it would be really hard to try to end a series that has been going for quite some time. I can't tell you if the world gets saved or not because that would ruin everything if you haven't read this. I have to say though that I guess the ending was ok. At one stage I thought Patterson had taken the easy way out by killing off the main character and saying that's the end but luckily he didn't.

I remember the feeling I had when I read the first book in the series, it was exciting and I had never read anything like it before. After about the fourth or fifth book it was starting to lose that charm. With the main plot of each book being about mutant teenagers saving the world, it gets a bit old very quick. So I have to admit I'm glad that the series was coming to an end. Usually for any series ending there's a sense of sadness as you will never read about these characters again or join them on their adventures but I didn't feel sad. I felt like it had run it's course and was ready to end.

I read my review for the previous book Angel and realised how much I really liked it. Unfortunately this isn't how I felt with this one. I've been reading the manga versions of this series and it's been really good, I've enjoyed reliving the past with pictures.

Honestly, I feel like the series really should have ended here. But now that there's a Maximum Ride Forever, we'll find out what happens next. But I like the idea of Max and Fang dying a lot more than Dylan saving them and whatever else that was in the last epilogue.

Wow just Wow. I'm not really sure what to say about this book, i'm still taken back from the ending.
Truthfully i'm sad to see the series end, but well it was time, it seemed like he was running out of ideas. But man that ending i was not expecting that to happen. I feel that finally all my questions are answered, from angel to weather max will choose fang or Dylan. I still have no idea what to say about this book :)
