A lovely selkie novella. Normally, I'll manage a few pages of whatever I'm reading before bed, but this kept me reading well past midnight (luckily it's not long otherwise I wouldn't have slept!). Myna's entrampment is particularly well done; you can feel her two worlds pulling at her throughout the story, even when she doesn't fully understand why. Towards the middle to end there's a real sense that no matter what she chooses, she'll end up hurting someone she cares deeply for. The resolution is nicely circular. It feels like a natural conclusion—that the story was always building to this while still managing to be unpredictable.
