I LOVED everything about this graphic novel and how OCD is depicted. The idea that intrusive thoughts are like bees buzzing around you all day is a nice way to visually explain how annoying those thoughts and compulsions can be at times.
After reading the author's note, I also appreciate the incorporation of tabletop role playing games and how we can define what weird means to us.

While I was doing my weekly walk of the 9-12 graphic novels I spotted this one and I'm so happy I picked it up!! The story centers around Isaac who's been recently diagnosed with OCD. He stumbles across a friend group who are starting a campaign of Swamps and Sorcerers (aka D&D) and it brings him so much joy

The RPG game scenes dragged a bit for me and I found myself skipping over them, but aside from that, this was a really insightful look at the reality of OCD and how parents who are trying to protect their kids don’t always make the right choices.
I would have liked to see more of a resolution for the mc’s sister, but ultimately this was not her story.

I got about halfway through and really liked it, but it was due back before I finished and not available for renewal. Would recommend, though!
