“Looking for someone, Riley? Perhaps, Mr. Riley?” a deep, raspy voice said from over my shoulder.
 - The Christmas Pact

Tropes: Workplace (Publishing), Enemies to Lovers, Fake Dating, Forced Proximity, Only One Bed
Spice Scale: 🌶
CW: Grief, Cheating Mention

The Christmas Pact was an adorable read. The publishing company setting was fun, and I loved the concept of how the characters knew each other. The characters were well developed, and once they met in person, they had amazing chemistry and great banter. The conflict felt forced, but the epilogue after it was resolved completely made up for it. Overall The Christmas Pact was fun and had the perfect amount of Christmas cheer without being over the top.

What happens when you listen to a 2-hour-long novella while decorating a Christmas tree and then don't write the review until a week later? You forget almost everything about it (oops).

Okay, I remember that there was fake dating (YAY! Love that) and there was sexual tension but not as much steam as expected for all the horniness throughout the story. Ummm I also remember that the conflict was a little bit silly to me but because it's a short book, it got resolved quickly and easily.

Overall, this was an easy listen to enjoy while decking the halls and while I wouldn't say to go into it expecting fireworks and the most incredible characters ever, I will say that it was fun and sweet and worth a listen during the holiday season!
