this book was an impulse buy and i think at this point i should not be left alone with my impulsivity. love and luck was expectedly disappointing, i'm currently thanking god that this only cost me 100 pesos but still this entire book could've been an email or something.

the thing is, the story could've been great, life-changing even! but unfortunately miss jenna welch wanted to play it safe and (sorry !) but i'm judging her for it:

1. cubby's bitch annoying pathetic ass
- i wish this entire storyline was handled better. the way it ended felt empty and missed a more in-depth exploration of the effects that that situation could have on people. it just felt so surface level ugh.

2. addie (mostly her relationship with her brother)
- idk if im dumb but i dont understand why she got mad when she found out he had a secret life in music journalism like no way you're getting that bothered over a secret ??? but then again, i could be wrong bc im an only-child.

3. rowan's relationship with his parents
- just like the cubby storyline, i also wish this was handled better. really, i hated how the book treated emotional moments like a lifetime movie. i know this book doesn't have to be all shakespearean and shit but my god at least try.

i will say that i only liked one thing!! and it's addie's friendship with rowan. hate to say it but props to miss jenna for keeping any romances out of this book <3

It was...okay. Love and gelato was just too good and I knew it would be hard to match up, but I hated the “romance” (if you could call it that) in this book. I found the characters to be boring and flat. I know in a few weeks I won’t be able to tell you what this book is even about because it was forgettable.

I enjoyed the road trip trope.

Addie is in Ireland with her 3 older brothers and mother, for her aunt's third wedding. This destination wedding starts off with a fight with her favorite brother, and rolling down a steep Irish hill during the filming of the ceremony. Ian and Addie's fight continues as they prep for a side trip to see her best friend in Italy, Lina. When Ian tries to ditch Addie on the morning before their flight to Italy, Addie interrupts his road trip plans with his friend Rowan, and ends up joining them for a hilarious and healing trip.

This was so fun! I was expecting something more sequel like but these books are truly stand alones.

Also for more adult romance try Off the Map by Trish Doller. I feel like these are a sign I need to road trip the country of Ireland.
