A short children's biography regarding the life of Louis Armstrong. My kids' really enjoyed this following our recent trips to New Orleans as they experienced a lot of street artists and jazz musicians during our trip. I liked how the biography adds in other snippets of facts relevant to the time period such as Jim Crow laws and the various types of Jazz instruments, and Jazz lingo.

A fun reading after a trip to New Orleans, where we stopped by Louis Armstrong Park during a biking tour. His life mostly has contributed to Jazz, which again has proved that passion and self-motivation are the secrets to success.

Oh I love his Music and his style ! And nobody else has it.... nobody !!! I read this a few years ago when I was at the library and I was curious about the musician as a person. This was lengthy for such a book and gave quite a bit of information. I am so glad someone handed him that coronet and encouraged that raw talent !
It makes me want to read a full length biography on him. I feel like a leaf, windsock, or a flag just drifting happily in the wind when listening to his music. Now that I am reminded of this little book I can look for a good lengthy book about this legend.
